Agroforestry Project with Iniciativa Verde
This project combines reforestation with the promotion of agroforestry systems. The aim is to promote the maintenance and success of forest restoration using agroforestry methods in an area of 36 hectares of deforested land in the municipalities of Anapu, Pacajá and Senador José Porfírio, in the state of Pará.
We are working with 30 farming families who will plant over 10,000 seedlings and monitor their growth over the next 5-10 years. The farmers will receive technical support from our NGO partner on the ground, Iniciativa Verde, who will provide farming equipment as well as technical know-how in carrying out agroforestry successfully. In addition to planting trees, the goal of the project is to train 120 farmers in agroforestry systems.
The key project indicators are increased plant cover, improved soil quality and enhanced income to the participating farmers.

COVID-Relief Project with SOS Amazõnia
Corona virus has had a terrible impact on forest communities. Through this project, we are sending essential food and hygiene items to 300 families in the Acre, Brazil. The aim is to help the forest communities isolate themselves safely in their own villages. We are carrying this out as a "match-donation campaign", where we will be matching every donation made towards this project with an equal contribution from our end.
Within one month of the project going live, The Rainforest Company donated R$ 66,000 and raised R$ 6,000 through our online fundraising efforts. The proceeds have been utilized by our NGO partner SOS Amazõnia to procure and distribute essential food and hygiene products among 300 families residing in the Riozinho da Liberdade Extractive Reserve.

Start Date: March 2021 - Project Duration: 3 months
Solar Power Project with Amazon Watch
In order to defend Sawré Muybu territory and its six interspersed communities from serious threats to their lands, particularly from illegal mining, logging and construction, the Munduruku have asked Amazon Watch to support solutions-oriented projects that would significantly improve territorial monitoring, communications systems, and economic opportunity.
We will be collaborating with Amazon Watch to construct a powerhouse and research center with the largest solar capacity in the region. This hub will receive a satellite internet installation and cutting-edge mapping software to systematize land monitoring efforts. It will also provide space for a computer lab where remote territorial monitoring and communications activities - such as the production of videos and other media products - can take place. The energy infrastructure will also enable local sustainable development activities, such as the production of crafts.
